Brief description of workshop:
In this workshop we will explore a range of printing options for lino block printing. You will learn about: registration, embossing your lino block, printing with and without a press, chine colle, printing on a variety of printed papers, hand coloured prints, lino print editioning and ways to incorporate stitch in your prints. The class is suitable for the absolute beginner, along with those with more experience. Participants will design and carve a small lino block, emboss their design on paper, and print on a variety of papers and on fabric. Finished prints can be made into cards, embellished and framed for display.
Requirements: Additional materials you might like to bring.
Bring an apron. Notepad or sketchbook and pen.
Lino carving tools (if you have them), 2B lead pencil, black sharpie (or similar marker).
Watercolour paint palette (Koh-I-Noor stackable disc palettes or similar), refillable water brush pen, or paintbrush and container for water.
Optional - A selection of embroidery thread in colours that you like, sewing needle, tapestry-style needle with large eye, scissors and a small embroidery hoop (if you have one).
Supplied:
Kity: All materials supplied for printing, print papers, decorative papers, card stock, fabric, block printing ink, transfer paper, glue, etc. A range of art supplies for colouring prints to supplement those suggested on the requirement list.
