Chinese Painting: Introductory Workshop
'The Four Seasons'
With an understanding of history and philosophy and an introduction to Chinese calligraphy.

When – Saturday 30 November 10am-4pm and Sunday 1 December 10am-4pm*
*Although it is a 2 - day workshop, participants can attend for the Saturday only

What the workshop will cover:
Day 1 Saturday
brush strokes
bamboo
orchid
rice paper
chrysanthemum
revision
Day 2 Sunday
plum blossom
insects- butterfly and bees
revision-ink stick and ink stone
Australian flora- wattle and gum blossom
Requirements:
- Chinese painting brush (available from tutor $5
- set of water colour tubes
- scrap book (newsprint/butcher’s paper)
- low water container (margarine tub)
- two white saucers (as palette)
- cotton cloth (old tea towel)
- small cup (for Chinese tea)
- own lunch
*Left handers welcome.
Supplied:
Morning and afternoon tea
Evaluation Sheet:
Students will be asked to complete an evaluation sheet at the end of the workshop.
