A wonderful array of textiles from our latest featured artisan, Caroline Liddicoat.
Here is her bio: Currently in my late 60s,I have been crafting from an early age. My mother taught me to knit at the age of 6, while a school friend taught me the art of crocheting in my early teens. I have built those skills over the years working on projects such as doilies with fine mercerized cottons and others with chunky wools or man-made fibres.
I like to work on quirky projects and projects which demonstrate advanced skills, or that teach me new ones.
While I have and do knit clothing items like cardigans, jumpers or shawls, or make blankets and throws or floor rugs, I also like to make toys, doll clothes and other smalls, and even the occasional parasol cover.
While I also sew, and like to experiment with other types of craft, most of the work that I place in the gallery is crocheted or knitted, using patterns either of my own making, or legitimately obtained from other sources.
I hope you obtain pleasure from seeing my crafted work, and that some of it tempts you to take it home to admire it there.
Regards, Caroline
